EasyNAS Coming soon

Network-attached storage management — rebuilt from the ground up for speed and stability.

EasyNAS is being re-created as a core part of the EasySYS administration suite. The original tool was built on a legacy Perl codebase; the upcoming version is a complete, memory-safe rewrite in Rust. It will offer low-overhead volume administration, ZFS/Btrfs storage pool creation, and automated file-sharing protocol control.

Legacy Codebase Migration

The legacy Perl implementation of EasyNAS is currently deprecated. We are actively writing the new Rust core. If you are running the legacy version, configuration export utilities will be available to help you migrate.

Planned Architecture

  • ZFS & Btrfs Native Integration: Directly manage storage pools, datasets, scrub tasks, and cache drives (SLOG/L2ARC).
  • Protocol Daemon Management: Start, stop, and configure Samba (SMB), NFS, and WebDAV sharing services.
  • System Dashboard Client: Real-time throughput metrics, IOPS tracking, and SMART drive health notifications.
  • Quota Enforcement: Configure user and directory storage quotas easily through our unified management interface.

Phase 1: Storage & Volumes (Q3 2026)

Deliver the core Rust daemon to scan disks, format partitions, manage RAID topologies, and configure ZFS pools or Btrfs subvolumes.

Phase 2: Shares & Authentication (Q4 2026)

Implement SMB/CIFS, NFSv4, and WebDAV configuration endpoints. Integrate domain auth directly using EasyDC credentials.

Phase 3: Web UI Console (Q1 2027)

Release a lightweight, modern web interface showing storage pool capacity charts, disk temperatures, real-time transfers, and user quota alerts.
